Are you an expert in Java? Ready to get paid to share your expertise and skills?
Infosec Skills is seeking help developing an online course on "Writing Secure Code in Java". Our courses focus on videos (really slides + accompanying audio), but we would also need review questions and a final project where learners apply their new skills. Our deadlines are flexible but generally are 1-2 months from signing a contract, and we would be looking for 8-15 hrs of viewable content.
Our target audience is IT and cybersecurity professionals who have some knowledge of Java but not too much. The tone should be professional but conversational; less like a college instructor and more like a knowledgeable colleague.
The fixed rate of $4,000 USD is an advance on royalties. Each quarter, we will pay you royalties based on how much time our customers spent viewing your content. That means you could continue receiving pay for years after doing the work. (Courses are work-for-hire and exclusive to Infosec Skills upon publication, and they may be taken down if too few customers view them.)
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- A solid grasp of Java including how to make it secure from cybercriminals.
- Experience using secure Java in real-world situations.
- Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
- Previous teaching or presenting experience is preferred.
WHAT WE NEED FIRST
Before we can hit the Hire button, we'll need three things from you:
1) An outline of the 8-15 hours. (We will share a template for this once we start negotiating.)
2) An ETA for all of the course materials.
3) A short 2-3 minute sample of you presenting or teaching.
Then we will offer a formal contract and we can get started!
