I have a winforms application that until now I use a manual release schedule. The code is already in Azure Source control, which I need help with is a release pipeline.
The solution contains a number of client programs, I need a release pipeline for two of them. The pipeline should be triggered manually, not CD, that will come later. But it will need to do the following steps for each of the two clients.
1. Bump a version number variable.
2. Create an xml file, details of format will provide you later.
3. Using the built files, and the xml file from step two it should create a new build using the details on the previous url. Please note we use our own agent computers, so we can install the required tools etc. on to it in advance.
4. Once the build is made we need to save the distribution files created to a OneDrive folder.
5. Finally, we need to ftp the distribution files to a FTP server in the cloud.
We will be looking to add more clients and steps in the pieline later, but to begin with, I just need this one completing.
For the successful candidate, I will walk you through the entire process manually so you can understand all the steps. I will also give you access to our devops account to test it.
