Software and Infrastructure Architect Consultant

1. Align software and infrastructure strategy and planning with business goals
2. Lead roadmap and architecture discussions with technical and leadership teams
3. Gather requirements and use cases from stakeholders (product, IT, engineering, machine learning) to define the architectural needs of January.ai
4. Design and document the architecture roadmap for January.ai - what will we need to build to support our product and how do we get there?
5. Provide consultancy around software tools and methodologies and suggest innovative ways to leverage internal and external data and technologies


Qualifications:
1. Graduate Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
2. 10+ years of software development experience
3. 5+ years of management experience in a software architect capacity
4. Substantial past experience in delivering software for mobile platforms (e.g. iOS, Android, etc.)
5. Long history of delivering software in cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google, etc)
6. In depth experience working with diverse, multi-stream data feeds
7. Direct, hand-on experience in data lake design and construction
8. Deep understanding of a complex distributed systems (e.g. Kinesis, Kafka, Spark, etc)
9. Strong preference for optimizing for simple, robust, and pragmatic solutions
10. Exceptional communication and documentation skills
