Wordpress - Basic Shopify Cross-Domain Tracking in Google Analytics

We are looking for a Shopify guru who can enable cross-domain tracking in Google Analytics (GA) between our WordPress site and our Shopify cart. We have the Basic Shopify cart (not the advanced), which Shopify claims does not allow for modification. A freelancer attempted to fix this for us, but he wasnt a Shopify guru. He was able to access the liquid file and add the Google Tag Manager (GTM) script, however, that did not work. He discovered that the cid value changes between our WordPress domain and our Shopify domain, therefore GA cant track sessions across both domains.

A job requirement is that you have successfully synced GA on a cross-domain ecommerce site that uses WordPress and the basic out-of-the-box Shopify cart.
