Need a one time use program to search hundreds of documents and extract a report.

I need to hire a programmer to develop an extraction program which inputs several thousand files, and, extracts from each of the files about 10 fields of data and prepares a report file of several spreadsheet lines of information. Critical is the extraction, or, if the only way to obtain the result needed, to calculate the expended time (actual if possible, but calculated from bulk of the content if data sought is not physically contained in that document) One means to do that would be for example, merely the print-out of expended time as accumulated in that document (I am not aware if such meta data is available. The three files are three possibilities in three formats of one of the hundreds of like documents. Input files would be furnished for the messaging by the program(s) to be built. The three most prevalent file formats are Word Perfect, Word and PDF. Whether this is feasible or not is the opening question? WTC
