The Modern Mirrors mission consists of the integration of innovative technologies in the fields of 3D body scanning, MOCAP (motion capture), cloth draping and simulation, SaaS inventory management and visualization imagery, in creating an Avant-Garde Fitting System (AFS) for the apparel industry. The AFS will transform the way designers, apparel manufacturers and retailers interact with consumers globally, by capturing consumers true images, body measurements and movements. The AFS is designed to eliminate the fitting room process for consumers by virtually displaying how clothing will look, fit and wear on their authentic image and body type. Thus creating a unique shopping experience for physical retailers and a platform for online shopping.
Position Summary
We are currently looking for an experienced back-end developer to work with other members of the software development team to specify and create an extremely secure, highly scalable back end system for handling linked datasets including CGI data, still image and video files, demographics, user preference, and purchase history information, interfacing these datasets to input systems, analytics and machine learning software, rendering systems, and user-facing applications.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate and communicate with Chief Technical Officer, VP Engineering, and development team to determine requirements and specify appropriate back-end solution, including database architecture and back-up system
- Work with Modern Mirror and external vendor to determine hardware/software requirements, develop back-end system, and manage deployment
- Work with Modern Mirror and clients to verify functionality of back-end system
- Work with Modern Mirror to establish security requirements and policies, and integrate appropriate technology into system
- Write code as needed to integrate components and to interface with input systems, analytics/machine learning software, and user-facing applications
- Instruct Modern Mirror personnel in maintenance, update, and expansion of back-end system
Qualifications & Requirements
Demonstrated practical experience including:
- Database creation
- Server technologies
- Server-side operating systems, programming languages, frameworks, back-end stacks
- API integration
- Content management systems
- Security best practices
- Reliability, back-up, and system reporting and testing
- Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a proactive nature
