Wordpress - Facebook messenger chat with tracking capabilities

I have a wordpress ecommerce website which needs Facebook messenger chat installed. I have installed the facebook messenger chat by using a plugin however the issue with the plugin is that it is an iframe which I cannot install tracking (such as gtm). The objective here is pretty simple, i need you to install a facebook messenger chat to my website but when the user clicks the button to open the chat, it has to push a datalayer or event or something so that I can track it using Google Tag Manager.
