I need to consult with a mechanical engineer to make changes to an existing commercial irrigation system that has some problems, and assist in the design of 2 new Systems. The existing application is an indoor ag facility. The system has 400 plant sites. 6 benches that are 4ft wide and 30 feet long. Rear height of the bench is 39 inches and the front height is 18. They are slopped for drainage run off that is collected in a 100 gallon sump tank for reuse. The nutirent tank that is the supply for the irrigation system is a 275 gallon ibc tote. There is a submersible pump that is 7400 Gph that is the main pump to pressurize the system. It is plumbed using 2 pvc rising out of the tank and then reduced to 1.5pvc that is fastened to the wall running horizontal to the front of all benches where it is reduced again to 3/4 pvc and controlled with a manual ball valve to restrict flow or increase flow. The 3/4 lines run the length of the tables with multiple 8 site drip manifolds rising from the 3/4 line. The problem we are having is when the supply pump is on and turns off, the supply tank gets siphoned through the system. We need to make changes to stop this from happening so we can automate the feeding of this system. Currently we have to manually feed these plants by opening the 3/4 ball valves, turning the pump on and off, and then closing all the 3/4 ball valves. We installed a check valve in line with the 2 riser out of the tank and that did not work. We have an engineered drawing of the system that I can upload.
2. New system. We want to design a flood and drain system for 12, 4x8x 6 flood trays.
3. New System. We want to consider 2 types irrigation designs for a multi level bench system. I have the engineers drawing of the bench system for upload.
I would like to start with task 1, and move on to the other tasks.
