Salesforce Formula Field Development

I Require development for one specific field.

I wish to have a formula field which works out the percentage of number of items selected from a Dependant multi picklist.

The Controlling field defines the number of dependant fields are shown, so for controlling field 1, there maybe 10 option, and for controling field 2, 20 options

if for controliing field 1, i have selected 6 out of the 10 option, i want this formula field to show the that 60% is chosen for this controling field 1.

It is a simple algoristhim, yet i have 7 controlling fileds, and varying options for each, so it will require some lenghty coding.

please only respond if you know you can do this, as i dont wish to wast both mine and your time
