Sr. Network/Network Security Engineer

Sr. Network/Network Security Engineer will be part of the Infrastructure Team responsible for Azure cloud network infrastructure and Web Application Firewall (currently Barracuda), guiding the team on how to configure and deploy secure cloud network architecture, hybrid connectivity, load balancing, network security components, and more. Will recommend how to best design and optimize our cloud network for high availability, reliability, performance and scalability. Will also work hand-in-hand with our strategic partners to architect new end-to-end solutions, while supporting customer’s solutions in Azure Cloud to drive excellence in products and features.
- Responsible for design, configuration, maintenance and issue resolution for enterprise Web Application firewall (currently Barracuda)
- Designs and configures Azure Network Infrastructure (load balancers, VPN tunnels, ExpressRoute, firewalls, et. al.)
- Performs gap analysis and suggests solutions to drive network infrastructure operations maturity.
- Defines standards and practices for building secure and reliable network components on public cloud platform.
- Serves as a trusted technical advisor to customers and partners solving complex Azure infrastructure and networking challenges.
- Provides escalation-level support for network security issues, as well as partner interconnects troubleshooting.
- Performs maintenance, upgrades and refreshes by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements on Web Application Firewall, as well as Azure network components.
- Maintain a healthy and secure network by managing and providing network performance statistics, including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency to installed NOC systems
- Create and deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, articles and technical presentations adapting to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders.
- Provides periodic off-hours on-call support and participates in on-call rotation.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelors degree or higher education level, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information and Technology and Computer Engineering, or a related engineering/computer field plus minimum of 10 years related professional experience.
- Experience in scalable networking design, including high availability, redundancy, failover and load balancing.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure networking and Barracuda WAF is preferred
- Must possess a demonstrated excellence in common Network Infrastructure and topology, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Network Monitoring tools
- Experience using automation and IaC tooling, such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, et. al.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to L3/L2 deployment, L7 firewalls and TCP stack.
- Demonstrated familiarity with one of more of the following: Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), log analysis, malware analysis, network traffic flow, traffic and packet analysis
- Demonstrated familiarity with tools used for security analysis (e.g., tcpdump, Wireshark, snort, ngrep, nmap, et. al)
- Familiarity with Security Event Incident Management, Log Correlation and Network Behavior Anomaly detection.
- Deeply knowledgeable with at least one enterprise network security platform (Palo Alto Networks, F5, Barracuda, Check Point, et. al), and one enterprise network route-switch platform (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, et. al).
- Strong communicator able to effectively communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users, including non-technical audience
- Network/Security certifications a plus

Travel: 10%

Special Work Hours: Periodic off-hours on-call support for production and development environments.

Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location.
