Docker & Versioning Expert

We are looking to better standardize and document server and application setup using Docker.

We want to used Docker to create reproducible and portable environments for Magento 2.

The stack looks something like this:

1. Docker Containers for OS / VM
2. Docker executes Magento 2 build using composer
3. Versioning of DBs using different Docker images
We are thinking of keeping different versions for databases in Docker images and provision
one of the DB Containers for the build
4. Versioning of Asset Repository in Docker images
We want to do the same for assets, e.g. images, sample data, etc. We want to keep different asset versions in Docker images too, and be able to provision them.

The goals are to be able to manage different versions of the entire setup. The ability to port this setup to different locations (local computer, development VPS, staging, production) and reliably reproduce the same setup.

This should be easy if you know what youre doing.
