Some minor custom work on Salesforce

We are attempting to create a monthly work flow that will take sales data out of an inventory/sales system that our stores use, and dump it into Salesforce. We have worked with our POS supplier to define the reports that will give us the data that we need, but we are unsure about what the best way to import it.

We do not require more than a single import per month (or perhaps bi-weekly), and this import can be manual.

At this point we will not be producing quotes, orders, or otherwise using Salesforce for anything related to billing or products. The reason for this is that we deal with a massive number of inventory items (+ 1 million) and there are frequent pricing changes and discount structures which push through to our POS system directly by our suppliers...trying to coordinate these constant changes with our SF instance would be a nightmare.

So we are using SF for CRM / task management, and sales analytics in close to real time.

We have a report (heavy editing on our end with lots of V lookups to consolidate unrelated databases into a single report) that spits out invoice line items for the month.

This is what we want to capture in some kind of custom ORDER type object.

Each line would contain:

Internal Customer Number
Related Salesforce Account ID
Internal Invoice Number
Part Manufacturer
Part Number
Part Supplier
$ Amount per line item (pre tax)

So Im thinking we need a few simple custom objects, since we only have the Professional edition, and therefore we dont have use of the Data Loader (but we can use data import wizard if we use custom objects)

Invoice Line Item (to capture invoice#, amount, part number / name, customer #)
Manufacturer / Line Code (this would be a related lookup field)
Part Manufacturer (this would be a related lookup field)
