My company publishes policy research and analysis that relies heavily on publicly available data. Our research is currently very text-heavy, and we are looking for ways to integrate data visualizations to support our claims in a way that is easy to read and visually interesting.
We are looking to hire a designer on retainer to turn datasets into visuals (graphs, charts, etc.), incorporating our company's style guide. We would start with -2 assignments per week and would request a relatively quick turnaround (1 day or less).
An ideal candidate has extensive experience with creating professionally designed charts and graphs from raw data and has the capacity to turn around quality work quickly. The ideal candidate would be the resident expert on the issue who is our go-to for both small/short-term assignments and larger, ongoing projects that may require regular updating as information changes. I am looking for someone who has excellent communications skills and would be willing to work with me to sharpen my knowledge about data visualization to the extent that I am able to best communicate our design needs.
