I need assistance with R code and Mplus syntax .
I am now running Multi-group analyses for the confirmatory and structural models which compare a series of CFA and SEM models across Gender. The issue that I have is that the gender subsamples are unbalanced (n = 244 Female, n = 92 Male). I found two procedures that address unbalanced subsamples.
i) One procedure involves randomly generating 100 or more subsamples using R into a new dataset and then using MPlus to run the multigroup analysis with the new dataset. I have a paper which in the appendices describes the R and MPlus code on how to do this, however, I am having trouble figuring how input the correct code for my dataset. I am looking for someone to walk me through the code and show me how to this. If you are able to assist, I can send the article with R and MPlus codes
ii) The other procedure involves the following: To control the possible false positive findings due to the unbalanced group sizes, Fisher's z-transformation was applied to the correlation coefficients for males and females, and the independent z test with z was then conducted to compare the criterion validities across gender groups by testing the above null hypothesis of group invariance (Fisher, 1921; Steiger, 1980).
I how was hoping to get some guidance on what this procedure actually means/involves and how to run the procedure with my dataset.
Please let me know if you are able to assist.
If all ok: I can send through the following (please see below) and any other information that you need.
a) A CSV file of my raw data
b) Example of R code I am using to run multi-group analysis.
c) Article by Yoon and Lai (2017) that discusses procedure 1. The R and Mplus Syntaxes are in the appendix section pages 210-213.
d) Article by Wu and Cheng 2019. The fisher transformation procedure is first discussed on page 318.
