We're creating a consumer product and want to test how many people will actually purchase (product market fit). So we're setting up a website and need to track how many people add the products to their shopping cart and try to checkout. This will tell us how many people actually want the product.

Because the product isn't available yet, we need a 'fake' checkout button so people can add products to their carts but get an 'Out of stock' message when they try to enter payment information. But we also need to know how many people did this and what items they put in their cart.

The website we're using is Weebly, so the code has to be compatible there.
