One Acre Fund in a non-profit headquartered in East Africa. We serve one million farmers, and work across 10 different countries in eastern and southern Africa with pilots in west Africa and south Asia. We work with small holder farmers, providing high quality inputs and training on credit. Farmers we work with typically see yields 50% higher than their neighbors.
One Acre Fund is undergoing a digital transformation as the rapid development of technical infrastructure in our areas of operation push us away from largely paper operations to digital tools -- tablets and phones. This transition means new types of data and more of it. While we previously worked in a world of SQL servers, we are now capturing mobile interactions, weather data, and more. We're using this data to develop data science models that make real impact in the lives of farmers.
